Because I thik for the most part, this group ( Pantera ) is made up of
people who saw it or saw ads for it when they were new and always wanted one
( just like you suggest ) BUT the big difference is that ours is EXACTLY the
same one we saw! While they buy newer versions that did evolve, the
original post was that it was suggested that that evolution might be coming
to a halt for a while and my supposition was that if that product ceases to
evolve that the desire for it will wain as newer products will fill the void
of those predisposed to yearn for such things.

It's one thing to be young and grow up to buy the EXACT same thing as what
you wanted, it's another to grow up and buy the current day version of it IF
the current day version is developmentally challenged by a corporate mindset
that lapses into mediocrity.

Which is a choice we never really had as there were no more made after ours
in volume.

Everybody who wanted a Corvette StringRay with a 427 has to settle for
something else, the most recent available version or have 150,000 for an
original, those who want a Pantera only have one option, buy the original.

The only difference between the two groups is that ours buys an original
while theirs buys a modern day incarnation ( no pun intended ) of the
original and my point was that if the modern incarnation sucks, it will fail
to impress, imprint, excite the NEXT generation that comes later who would
have used that car as their inspiration, like we had the original Pantera as
ours.
