[DeTomaso] I Think I'll Take it Off & Just Run Naked!

Just put longer stops on it to hold it up about an inch or leave it unlatched.  It will find it's happy place on it's own.  Take your lifts off if they actually lift it.  Let the techs know so some course worker doesn't say you're losing parts.  This also works for the front lid.  It will
rise up to a balance point too.  Don't asked how I know this.  As long as you keep going forward, nothing will fly off and the panels will settle back into position as you slow.
