[DeTomaso] cooler air to carb

Chris,

Why don't you just take an indoor/outdoor thermometer and tape the outdoor sensor to e.g. the air cleaner, hanging next to the filter element. Then see what difference the fans make when turned on.

> Wait; if you take another look you'll see they are extractors! The are positioned on the engine cover in such a way as to pull air out of the engine compartment. I believe when the car is moving quickly, the air gets sucked into the engine compartment from under the car and out the top through the engine cover (which stock was a screen of some sort, I think) and then out the glass-less "window." My ingenious fans simply pull the hot air out of the engine bay (and maybe, consequently pull cold air in from underneath) while sitting at stop lights, etc. At higher speeds my assumption is my little fan blades are probably whizzing around faster than they ordinarily would, since at that point the airflow would be shooting through the fan openings in the same direction as the fans would want to pull anyway.
