[DeTomaso] cooler air to carb

It did on mine and I had a hole the size of my fist in the side of the block
where the motor hydrualic'ed (sp) ( filled a cylinder with water ) and threw
a rod through the aluminum block.

It cost me $9,000 for a new motor and installation.

First thing I did was remove the snorkel when I got it back, I still have it
as a lesson to remove stupid things like that where they don't consider
where you live. and as a lesson to me that I didn't need to be anywhere that
bad that I couldn't wait for the rain to stop. Just for the record, it was
Oct 1997, we had 10" of rain in 4 hours, it was the proverbial 100 year
storm and I hit a hidden puddle in the street.

Sorta like the small plane flying lesson, "Ain't nowhere I gotta be today
that I can't get to tomorrow that's worth dying for!"
