Hey Iron Man!

I take it these little improvements will be put to the test in the Spring and I can expect to see you and that race Pantera back in action at Silver State in May or the Big Bend in April. ;-}>

After trashing an engine at the silverstate while running 6200rpms for most of 45 minutes my engine guy came up with a couple of things that he said helps.

We added an external oil return line on the side of the right valve cover to the oil pan below the oil line in the oil pan.

A second return line was added to the left valve cover to the oil pan above the oil line.

He said that when the engine is turning a lot of rpms continuously you get a wind tunnnel that makes more pressure in the oil pan than the valve covers. This prevents the oil from draining back down the small holes. Especially if you have any blow by. By adding the lines it helps draining on the right side because the pressure is the same in the oil as the valve cover and balancing the air in the pan with the air pressure on top in the left valve cover.

Seems reasonable but an extreme thing to have to do.

We did that along with a Titan pump which is another extreme thing,'
