[DeTomaso] Recommendations for Cordless (i.e., rechargeable) Ratchets?

Jack,

I'm starting to add and remove a lot of parts to moch up things, not permanently mount.  It's taking forever to do this, and is a general pain.  I have a good compressor and air ratchet, but neighbors aren't real happy about a compressor running late at night.  I thought a rechargeable ratchet would be very good for this application.

I've seen several cordless ratchets made by Ingersoll Rand, ZNEX (who are they), and others.  Does anyone have a recommendation?  Does anyone have the much less expensive skil ratchet?

My cordless Skil #2238 3/8-drive ratchet has so little torque, its only good for adding or removing oil pan bolts. It will not break loose intake manifold bolts. And since a speed handle is lighter, cheaper and works faster on pan bolts, the Skil sits on the bench wasting electricity in its charger. In 10 years, I think I used it exactly twice (birthday present). If you do buy an electric, get the one with the highest listed torque- which won't be very much. Air tools are better even adding in the cost of a garage compressor. If you're looking for a wheel lug wrench or other fairly hi-torque wrench, I doubt if any electric will work well enough. My 2¢- J DeRyke
