>>>An excellent idea, one that we discussed on Saturday. Although the
various fittings *around* the PCV valve system are new (i.e. the adapter connecting
it to the valve cover, the fitting on the air cleaner for the vent hose on
the other side etc.), the PCV itself is ancient. It certainly would be a good
idea to change it, just for the heck of it.

>>>True enough, but if that were the case, I would expect to suck oil through
the PCV and into the carb, and get huge clouds of smoke out the back,
something that hasn't happened yet.
I am getting high-rpm oil pressure drop on the gauge, but several people have
opined that it's probably a bad sender, especially since it *instantly*
corrects itself the moment I let off the gas; if it were a genuine oil supply
problem I'd expect a lag of at least a second or two. I'm going to change the
sender (I actually already changed it; removed a perfectly good one and replaced
it with one that might not be good, so I'll just put the old one back in) and
then see if the indication remains. If so, I'm sucking my pan dry. If not,
that's one less thing to worry about. :>)
