Market manipulations by greedy corporations/management that basically killed the goose that laid the golden eggs, the "consumer". I hate that term, seems more like a mindless sloth.

Personally, I believe all that market manipulators belong in jail or shot, but then I have Soviet upbringing.

Add a few Zero's to it and it seems like the same thing that happened to property values in California's Central Valley.

I saw a chart a few months back in the midst of the $4.50-5.00 gas prices
that showed the price increases over the last few years. Since I deal with
statistics quite a bit in my work, the trend was pretty obvious.

>From about the $2.00/gal price break, the price of gas leapt about $.50/gal
more each year through 2007 when it peaked at around $3.50 a gallon during
the (wink wink) "summer driving season". Then this year we shot straight
through $4.00 and went for the trifecta. Seemed like each year they were
desensitizing to another price bracket so we wouldn't see it as any surprise
the next year.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but it does make you wonder . . .

Hemet Kalifornia

$2.02. 9/10, ah what the hell $2.03.

Seems odd that the rise in the costs of goods and services was attributed to

higher fuel costs, yet we haven't seen a corresponding drop of those goods
and services since the price of fuel has fallen.

I suppose it's similar to when the govt claims to need a "Temporary" tax
increase for emergency projects. Remember the temporary 1/2% sales tax from
the earthquake way back when?
