Just FYI,

At least in the case of Autometer, there are two types of electric gauges, analog, and digital.  In the popular Ultra lite series there is:
 
4327 0-100 PSI  analog, retails for about $60:

4353 0-100 PSI, full sweeps, stepper motor, retails for about $200:

I think they also have a fully digital line.

I believe the second gauge on Charlie's car is a mechanical one, i.e. 
'right'.
