[DeTomaso] Techno question: aluminum flywheel washers

I used ARP bolts on my Fidanza aluminum flywheel and they fit perfectly.  The threads are long enough to clear the reportedly thicker aluminum flywheel flange and the bolt heads are thinner so it clears the installed clutch disc hub.  ARP's instructions say NOT to use washers as they can cause failure and void warranty.
