[DeTomaso] Early 71 turn signal flasher question (Orange wire KBL?)

Anyone have an early 71 p-car and upgraded to the newer 3 prong flashers?  If so what did you do with the extra Orange wire labeled KBL on the old style 4 prong flasher?

All the other wires match up on both flashers:

49 is yellow
49a is pink/black
31 is solid black
