[DeTomaso] Paint Colors

Bob,

Good theory and something I've wondered about in the past.
However, in my case, the 2nd owner (a Ford dealer in Larned, Kansas)
who I bought the car from assured me that the 1st owner ('an Ford area
representative from Wichita'), whose name I do not know, re-painted
the car from it's original lime green.
So, I've taken that as fact since then. Could be wrong though!

The color of the car when I bought it was definitely not a stock
color. And I found lots of places where the same color can be seen
under the 'red' paint. There were no other colors on the car that I
could find.

An old picture of it after I took the wire wheels off and put some
Campies on it...

To my knowledge, that is not a stock color, even for 1971.
Correct me if I'm wrong....

FWIW,
Kirby
