My cousin who lives in New Zealand had always wanted to go bungee jumping. So
finally he went ahead and went there to do it. As he was watching a video of
it beforehand, the staff noticed that he appeared a bit nervous about this
and spoke with him about it. They said this is normal, but also wanted to
make sure he really wanted to proceed. He said definitely, but yes, he was
pretty nervous. They said this happens often to people, so they take good
care of them. They asked if he wanted what they called "Special Treatment",
which they often offer to people such as himself who are experiencing some
of this pre-jump anxiety. He said sure. So they took extra time with him,
explaining the details, and basically had one staff member paired-up with him
throughout the process. As they were on the bridge and getting ready for him
to jump, they had an extra person there to assist, too. They helped him climb
over the rail, and then said any time he was ready, he could push off and jump.
As soon as he let go and pushed off, they screamed "W---W---WAIT!!!!!!!"
That was the "Special Treatment", New Zealand-style. 8=) Maybe they keep that
option available to only the natives.

Enjoy, MD...
