[DeTomaso] Techno question: Flywheel balance

Dear Garth,

Last week when I did my pre-purchase research two Forum members told me that they had no problem with their Fidanzas except for the bolt holes for the pressure plate. It seems they aren't machined for "shoulder bolts" that are used on our 351C flywheel-pressure plates (?). It is also something easily fixed before installation by the machine shop. I seem to recall that one fellow was running a Centerforce clutch without problems.

I not sure what clutch-pressure plate I have (it is on the shelf somewhere in the garage---uh, Pantera Research Institute!), but I am optimistic that it will work without problems (the usual situation when one messes with things: no problems!)

I found my unit at Alamo Motorsports in Florida for $319.00 with free shipping.

Warmest regards, Chuck Engles

I've heard that the Centerforce requires the stock flywheel (and others) to be redrilled, or you need to order the Centerforce alum flywheel ($600-800). Just curious if the Fidanza will require redrilling too.
