[DeTomaso] Windshield Leaking

Eventually I plan to replace my windshield and get the correct rubber 
for it. But until then, I was wondering if I should try to use clear 
silicone to seal the rubber seal to the car, especially in the corners. 
Whoever previously replaced the windshield botched the job.

So, is it a good idea to use silicone? or is it a bad idea?

Last week when I washed my car, I found puddles of water on the floor 
pans and the fuse box was wet. This is why I want to do something now.
