Used to be true.   Well, actually, still is true, but now some Pantera 
vendors have either found a source, or tooled up to produce brand new stock brake 
master cylinders, no adapters required any more, and you no longer have to buy 
the master and the booster as an assembly, which was the only way they came for 
many years (and $$$ is an understatement for that!).

Cost is $219.95 for PI members, $229.95 for non-members.   Of course you have 
to re-use your old fluid reservoir and cap; those are also available although 
not shown on the website.
