I seem to remember that someone lost a decklid (while going forward) a few years ago at Big Bend?
Dennis lost an "elephant ear scoop" one year. Found and returned.

I left the front hatch unlatched once. At around 50mph it came up about an inch and stayed right about there regardless of speed. The rear decklid should balance like that too. If it flies off while you're going forward the one and only cause is crappy mounting. If you want to relieve pressure from underneath, just make a simple mount where it stays up about an inch. If you want to increase pressure on top, just put a dam (spoiler, foil, Blah blah) at the trailing edge. Belly pan on a Pantera don't have to be pretty and body colored. You could just close up some of the open areas between the firewall and the rear suspension with removable sheet metal panels. That should lower the amount of air being trapped in the engine compartment or pulled up and through the rear opening. You can make it as complicated as you want.
