Aside from being highly inappropriate to put a trunk in "The Beast", it's pretty packed with oil lines, dry sump tank, etc so there's no space for a trunk.
Is this suggestion to block air from coming up to the deck lid? I suppose a trunk would force the air out the rear screen, especially without a a/c condenser? Hmmm, maybe the Italians weren't who we thought they were.

  The problem is probably at least 50% due to low pressure vacuum from above, not just high pressure air flowing in from below.  Running with a trunk in place would probably help the latter problem.
