[DeTomaso] High Torque Starter

Bill,

The description says: "Gear Reduction High Performance Ford Factory 
NEW Mini PMGR Starter for Manual Transmissions"

Is it a gear reduction starter or not? :-/ I'm happy as long as it spins the engine well but what's the real deal here? The housing sure looks like a non-gear unit but a planetary gearbox could be concentric as shown.
