[DeTomaso] High Torque Starter

The PMGR is a direct drive starter motor. From all reports, this  motor has 
plenty of torque, so I would assume it is a modern design permanent  magnet 
motor. These motors use very powerful ceramic magnets and do not have a  field 
winding as in the OEM Pantera/Ford starter. It's the same deal as the  modern 
window motors. Much better than what was standard 35 years  ago.
 
The other starters are all gear reduction motors, so they are bound  to be 
more expensive. Is a gear reduction motor needed? Probably  not.
 
The PMGR motor should be more that adequate for starting even  smoking hot 
351Cs and is a great bargain at $50. I think I'll order  one.
