I have use a wooden broom handle for a stethoscope.

Hi Henrik,

Try to locate the sound.  A piece of fuel hose 50cm long or longer should
work.  Hold one end to your ear and use the other side to listen at
different parts of the engine.  It might be the fuel pump, alternator, all
sorts of things.  A stethoscope works too.
