[DeTomaso] AC Expansion Valve Question

Yes. Pantera vendors have both types of valves in stock. I'm told the R-134a 
valves have different strength springs and no final filter-screen, both in 
order to allow the higher flow rates that the less-efficient R-134a freon needs. 
The springs are sort-of adjustable in strength within the valve, but no one 
knows exactly what settings we need (or they aren't saying 'cause they're in 
business, not in a hooby). And due to the way the thing is designed, you need to 
vent all the freon to make minor adjustments. Personally, I'm not inclined to 
mess around any more than I already have in front-mounting the condenser; I've 
also added an electric pressure switch to disconnect the compressor clutch at 
a certain pressure so as to not blow the lines off. Good luck- J Deryke, NOT
