[DeTomaso] Felt or Carpet for the front trunk?

If you're concerned about damaging the felt but still want to retain a
stock, original aesthetic, how about going with the felt and carrying a
carpet remnant liner for trips or toting sharp edged objects in the
trunk(s)?
