Please pass this to the list Chris, I can at least see the post when
you do it.
Window removed - took 6+ hours (90 minutes would be reasonable)
The service manual instructions are correct:
- Remove armrest handle and trim panel including weathershield
- Remove inner glass weatherstrip
- Remove rear glass screws. Be sure window is fully raised.
- Lower window enough to remove the retaining nuts and washers that
attach the door glass to the regulator.
- Then carefully remove the glass
However, for an Aug73 build-date car they should also include, before
the last step.
- Remove door exterior handle - see Section 44
with a note - to remove actuating rod, adjust toward door lock
until end at latch is free
- Remove door latch - see Section 44
- Let window slide down to bottom of travel and rotate rear of window
up to extract it vertically through the slot.
Nothing to it (except a Sunday afternoon)
thanks
dave

Chris
Could you post this for me?, I know you're interested.
I must be on some forbidden list because just I can't post anything.

#6143 & I were rolling along pretty well with the electrical stuff
I have to do,
then I started the first mechanical job and stalled on window removal.
>>>From the service manual
- Remove armrest handle and trim panel including **weathershield**
- Remove inner glass weatherstrip
- Remove rear glass screws. Be sure window is fully raised.
- Lower window enough to remove the retaining nuts and washers that
attach the door glass to the regulator.
- Then carefully remove the glass
It's all good up to the remove the glass part.
The glass is free inside the door but I can't find a way to wiggle it
out.
(Now I don't know what
weathershield means - maybe a Ford guy coping with an Italian
non-manual.
I did remove the inner weatherstrip and the weatherstrip from the rear
glass-run and rear frame )
Anyone have a clue for me?
dave
