Be sure to replace your drier/acculator too. They're cheap and easy to change while you
have things apart. When I replaced the compressor on my LandCruiser, the new was
sealed with a bright warning NOT to add oil. It came from the factory with the correct amount
  of oil in it already.

Install the parts then take it to your local AC specialist and have him install the correct
amount of oil as part of the charging service. Yeah, it will cost more than doing it yourself,
but you'll have peace of mind that everything is right. And unless you have a vacuum pump,
you won't be able to charge the system yourself initially.

Can anyone give me a suggestion as the the amount of oil that needs to be added to the AC
system of a Pantera using a new Sanden SD508 compressor? I also need to know about
how much R134A freon should be required. The system has the stock evaporator and
condensor. It previously had a rotary compressor with R12 as the cooling medium.
