Oh (Big) Brother!

…and I got no warning at all!

Chuck

Chuck,

Thanks for the test drive. I don’t know how you got your hands on that over
here.

Miko

PS: Beyond that for track use.... all GTRs in Japan are being
monitored/tracked via the advanced GPS system in the car, and then the
data-recording starts,... see:

"Drooling over the new Nissan GT-R? Can't wait to get one out on the track
and see what she can do? Not so fast, hot shot! Apparently, the new GT-R's
built-in navigation system knows the location of popular race tracks, and
will void your warranty if you set a tire on the track. As you enter a known
circuit, a nagging navi voice will let you know you're about to make one
seriously expensive driving choice. Way to go Nissan, this is Big Brother on
a whole new level! And I thought Mitsubishi's SCCA spies were an all-time
low! " -Cardomain

"A Japanese journalist reportedly had the following experience when test
driving a pre-release model of the GT-R. As he approached the main entry
gate of Suzuka International Circuit, the car's GPS-equipped computer warned
him in a pleasant voice that once he entered the circuit, the car's warranty
would be voided.

The navigation screen then gave him an "Accept" screen, requiring him to
push "Accept" to get rid of the voice. After a couple more times, the voice
issued a final warning that the vehicle was recording his driving habits and
any damage done to the vehicle at the circuit would not be covered under the
new-car warranty at a Nissan dealership."

The more likely and current scenario. also cars run over 180kph are shutdown
