[DeTomaso] bearing issues

Mike,
If you check Wilkinson's add closer, you'll see that his new axles are
cold rolled forgings which are about the best way I can think of to make an
axle. These are in no way similar to the poorly made stock originals so I
highly recommend them, especially at the price he's asking which includes
new nuts.

Subject: Re: bearing issues
Apropos of this discussion, I just got an e-mail from Wilkinson in which
he announced a March Madness sale; he is selling replacement axles and axle
nuts, apparently for $378 for the PAIR. These are probably factory axles
which historically were of so-so quality at best, as opposed to the high
quality forged aftermarket made-in-USA variety. I'd ask that question
before I spent any money.
If it were my car I wouldn't skimp (in fact I didn't), but it's something
to consider....
Mike
