[DeTomaso] Putting a small block Chevrolet in a 1973 pantera

It doesn't make sense to me to go through all that effort to have a SBC in a
Pantera. Any economy you save by swapping in a SBC is lost by the custom
fabrication. When you're finished, what do you have? You'd get the same
thing by building a nice 351C - and then remove a couple of plug wires.

Of course, that's just my opinion.

BTW, this doesn't compare to a Hemi in a Pantera. The Chrysler Hemi is
legendary. A SBC is simply a different flavor of the same size engine.

Will.

Logically, a small block Chevy makes sense. It's just that some people
would see the car as having been bastardized.? But there's a guy in Germany
with a BMW V8 in his and another fellow in with a Hemi in his and both those
are undoubtedly very quick cars.

I guess it's the Ford vs Chevy rivalry thing that makes it seems distasteful

Jim

I need help!! I want to put a small block Chevrolet in my pantera. Any
information about adapters, motor mounts, headers would be greatly
appreciated. If there are any vendors that someone would recommend also
would help, and if someone has already done the conversion I would love to
talk with you. Thanks in advance.
