[DeTomaso] Electrical Gremlins still live!

Michael,
 
Start the car, rev the motor, read the ammeter. If the ammeter does  not show 
a charging current flowing to the battery, assuming you have a good  
alternator/regulator and they are properly connected, you have an open circuit  
between the alternator and the battery. 
 
The connections at the back of the ammeter could well be the  problem.
