You're right, Peter- Art mentioned in his 1st post that he thought his
problem might have resulted from some change in timing such as 'jumping a tooth'.
While this is usually not possible with gear-drive cam setups unless a woodruf
key or dowel shears, and should not be possible with an almost-new engine
such as he has (dunno if he has a chain or a gear drive cam), if it somehow
happens, it changes the relationship between cam & crank, which is what I was
addressing in #2. Just twisting the distributor won't cause imechanical
