[DeTomaso] New radio required suggestions please

Clay:

I have one more picture but I think it is a little too big to post. I will
try to send it to your email. There is a small visibility issue with the
display in direct sun light. The simple solution was to fab a small hood
which seems to address the issue most of the time. I know they had to open
the radio and do some custom work to rotate the display. They fabricated the
Dk Grey frame around the display and kept the ability to remove the bottom
portion of the radio face plate. All in all I like the radio, even with the
makeshift sunlight solution. They also turned the knob 90 degrees so the
"Alpine" label is horizontal. I would have still done this radio even if I
had to live with the screen in its original position.

I was looking at that model for my 71 so I could also use my ipod.
Do you have any other closer pics of how they did that?
Also is that a piece above it or a shadow that appears to lock sunlight so
you can see the screen better?

My kenwood cant be seen (LCD) unless I lean over so I am not at an angle if
there is any sunlight out.

Thanks
Clay
