Zerks are all 1/4-28 thread; larger ones are usually installed into various 
adapters that have other threads. Zerks only have about 3 threads but that's 
apparently enough to hold considerable grease pressure, so there's no sense in 
tapping more threads in the upright. Good luck- J Deryke
