Steve Wilkinson had a special running a while ago on new billet steel axles,
$375 for the pair.  I paid $450 each 3 years ago during a rebuild with
another vendor.

Well, it's not great.   If they aren't worn, then it's probably okay.   If 
they're worn, it's very bad.

New hollow axles are okay, new solid forged axles are 2x-3x the cost and are
definitely good!
