Maybe- if it was rotated every once in a while. The 'replacement ZFs' Ford 
ordered by the trainload, then found they didn't need, were stored dry in open 
crates and humidity in the air caused pitting and corrosion in gears and 
bearings. This probably would still happen with lube in the gearbox since a std fill 
only brings lube to the 1/3-to-the-top point in the cases. And 'dry storage' 
in Arizona is different from 'dry storage; in Massachusetts. I'd still suggest 
removing the lower cover and look for damage. FWIW- J DeRyke
