If you don't mind the fact that you are raising the air cleaner, and perhaps
thus loosing the use of the engine screen... I think it is a good idea. I
would also get a "wedge spacer" to get the carb more level.
A total of 2-3 inches is the most you need to gain the benefit.

Hi all,
I've read a few places that that a 2" high intake carb spacer can increase
plenum volume. "A spacer increases the carb-to-plenum floor distance which
atomizes the fuel better and also enhances low-rpm torque and throttle
response".

an example of one for sale on PI:

Anyone have an opinion or experience? Are these worth the pain of
re-adjusting linkage and all, or just an excuse to sell an expensive piece
of plastic to the unwashed looking for bolt on HP?

thanks,
brent

p.s. sorry if this comes out with the &nbsp's everywhere, i haven't posted
in a while and will fix if it does...
