Ted 'Vader' Mitchell had an early model on his 460-Lincoln town car for
years. George Walker had one on his GT-5 for quite a while with no known problems.
Until one day in Las Vegas when the engine would only run full-rich, blowing
smoke like an 18-wheeler on an upgrade! Turned out that the battery ground
cable was loose and corroded- not enough to affect the starter but enough to
affect the Holley's brainbox. Jacking in a laptop computer to diagnose the problem
was ineffective since the laptop only said, "Cannot locate the device!" An
old-time engine guy in a 'Vegas fix-it shop found the cure more-or-less by
accident. Dunno if George even has this car any more.
Lesson: KEEP THE GROUND CABLES CLEAN if you add such electronic stuff! FWIW-
