Scary story below. I am putting together 6566 and have not yet installed the roll bar because I expect the bulkhead cover to be making regular trips out of the car and on to the garage floor. The car currently has no seatbelts and I have been lucky no curious officers have pulled me over. Any particular opinions out there on which belts to use? Kragens can be a quick fix for $25 but I am leaning towards the harness from Summit.
Thoughts?

Subject: [DeTomaso] Roll Bars - Opening for Nebraska Sand Hills Road Race - august 7-9, 2008

P.S. If you decide you want to try and average anything over 95 MPH (100 mph & UP) on the SORC road you now need a roll bar. Highly recommended at any speed. The Sandhills road in particular has grass shoulders! ;-]>

I recently saw a Pantera that crashed this year whose roof was level with the door sills after a roll over. Dick Drenske has built a 3-point bolt in roll bar for many of the track and orr veterans where the 3rd leg easily unbolts....Larry Stock, Bobby Byers and other vendors  also sell roll bars as well.

I just got a call from Fran & Becky at the Sandhills ORR in Nebraska. They said they just had a cancellation for the Nebraska orr.

Its possible they may get 1-2 more cancellations before August but right now we have 1 spot for TPR...  Read on if you want to run your Pantera or Mangusta legally on a real road at speed.

This ORR has been booked solid for 6 months. Outside of Mexico, this is the most challenging open road race in the country....Okay, MF'r, Texas Big Bend is a close second ;-]>

The Sand Hills orr also includes a 1-mile shoot-out on Friday (our own and much beloved Dave 'the Pope' Adin holds the Pantera record there) and then the 2-way orr run through the Sand Hills happens Saturday.  Lots of turns, elevation changes, off camber turns and some short straights.

For this years "Children of the Corn Tour" we will again have a FREE donated old hunting lodge stocked with food, drinks, and stuffed dead animals at no cost or charge. This year Bob "Rowdy" Radefeld from Kansas will be joining us in his Pantera. The Pope, Tommy Gun Di Iulio, The Falacon and the Dawg round out the team. The great thing about this arrangement is we have all our peeps in one location. Great ambiance...Think "Animal House."

If you think you want to join us you need to call me (714-459-5651) ASAP.....and then call Becky at 308-848-2522 or Fran at 308-520-1786 in SORC registration....You can view the web site details, registration, tech rules, etc at
