Hi, Well lets see, the coil wire goes there and that is 40,000 Volts. It is
standard electrical practice with high voltage across something moving to use
carbon. If the ball is not making intimate contact with the copper tang then
you are getting a spark jump. Not good for transferring all the voltage the
coil is putting out. So the car will run but not at its hottest spark. Pat
