OK, now if the bearings are ALSO 1.5748" (as they're spec-ed in the bearing 
catalogue), you have at best an 0.0002" press fit in one position and minus 
0.0001" in another. Ball bearing manufacturers say their bearings need 0.0005" 
(light interference press) to 0.0010" (medium interference press) to work 
properly. This calls for a 1.5753-1.5758" dia axle shaft- a dimension the factory 
never used. This is also why most stock axles will cause wheel wobble as miles 
accumulate. Sometimes one can find a slightly tighter bearing for a slightly 
worn axle position, selectively fitting. Good Luck- J Deryke
