Thats the factory setup from chassis designer Dallara, the race engineer. It
puts a slightly smaller amount of unsprung weight on the suspension, arranged
this way. But if you're running a non-stock exhaust system with a bigger pipe,
reversing the halfshafts so the 'small end' is against the ZF creates a
little more pipe clearance just outside of the inner fender panels, without
pounding dents in the pipes or otherwise fiddling with them to keep from getting
mysterious thumping noises on bumpy roads. The change in unsprung weight will be
completely un-noticable on a street car. You get to choose; just be very sure
all the halfshaft connecting bolts are very tight either way, or you may get an
odd vibration under hard acceleration. Good luck- J Deryke
