Jack,
The Five and Dime newsletter was around for many years before Dennis, just
to be accurate.
(I have boxes of issues.)
The "club" was started by a core of members, of which I can no longer
remember most.
(Rex Jennett, Steve Sharp, etc.)
In the early 1980's a guy from Los Altos joined.
He later became a F1 announcer. I forget his unusual name.
The club was already established when I hung around in 1976-1977,
(Meetings held at Steve Sharp's apartment complex club house, when the Round
Table meetings moved.)
I think I officially joined in 1978. A 1969 510 was my first car (ZQW 791)
My last and best car was a '73, the VIN? PL510-432934.
Meetings were later held at the Mercury Savings building at Wolfe and
Steven's Creek,
starting around 1978.
In my attic, I have thousands of 510 photos (mods, engines, suspension
tricks, racing, paint schemes).
I did then with film what I do now with Panteras, take photos of every car.
I even have photos of Pete Brock racing his 510.
Now you are stressing my memory, but it needs exercise.
Chuck
