David,

Just wire the light directly to the two wires of the fan. When the fan gets
12V so will the light.

If you use an LED, which side of the LED you connect to 12V matters. If the
LED doesn't light, swap the leads.

Common LEDs require an external resistor to operate on 12V. Radio Shack
sells LEDs which have a housing and built in resistor so they are easy to mount
and can operate directly on 12V.

Search >>>>>http://www.radioshack.com/ for 276-084. $1.99 Red LED
with Holder Model: 276-084 | Catalog #: 276-084

Have fun,

Hi kids,

I need to have a little light to let me know when the cooling fans
come on (ford, but not pantera) . . . it seems one could just take 12v
off the fan to a light. It also seems this is a fire waiting to
happen - do I need to take the power off the relay???

Help please . . .

electronically challenged I remain,

David in Durango
