Actually, any decent shop can just machine/file/grind the top of the cap down for a correct fit.  The opposing shaft keeps
the joint centered a long as you dont change the diameter of the caps.  It's not a real complicated job and clearances are 
not terribly critical.  I've had it done more than once by a drive shaft specialty shop when specified U-joints just were not 
available.
