I had big difficulty getting a nice, smooth action when I re-installed mine.
(sorry, I didn't take any shots of it. It would close but the handle
would hang out maybe 15 degrees)
After a while I figured out that I was deforming the whole assembly by
tightening it down into the mounting bracket.
So
- moving it as far forward as the clearance allowed
- putting thread lock on the 2 mounting screws
- and just bringing them snug
I got a consistent action.
