[DeTomaso] Deck Strut mounts

A common problem. Besides the various strengths of strut available, there are 
two different types- one uses a stock clevis on a u-shaped bracket (two 
different bolt hole diameters, too) while the other (Hall?) uses a blade-type end 
on what looks like a small angle-iron bracket. This one could bolt in by 
drilling holes as req'd in the bracket & using nuts below. The upper ends of some 
aftermarket struts unscrews so you can swap things around from one type to the 
other- sometimes, as they work equally well right-side-up or upside-down. 
And unless you run 180 heads, its quite possible to weld or braze in 
replacement clevises to the wheelhouse with the engine in place. Try pulling the wheel 
& tire and going in from below. Good luck- J Deryke
