Dear Dick,


                Years ago, when halogen bulbs became available, I used 
halogen bulbs for the reverse light.   I recall that they were notably more 
expensive than stock, but they were, crudely measured by eyeball testing, 
about three times brighter and did help rearward vision at night.   Good 
luck with your quest for bright lighting.
