I am increasingly worried about the brightness and volume of light from my
1969 tailamps compared to cars today.
Looking through a SPEEDWAY catalog I found several new lamp bulbs on one
page.

In previous discussions on this site where LED lamps were spoken about it was
clear that the LEDs must be supported by a parabola designed for them to be
more than the bright pinpoint of light that results.
Take a look at the lamps on a Cadillac STS as an example.

Tailamp parabolas are designed around the element in the bulb, resulting in
the complete illumination of the parabola when the lamp is lit. If the filament
is not in the appropriate location the parabola will not light up, only the
bulb will.

Lamp bulbs available in the catalog that look stock and are probably designed
to work with the parabola are:
SUPER BRIGHT POWER BULBS, 12V stock replacement, 50 candlepower.

Halogens look like they would work with the parabola but are smaller in
diameter than stock
HALOGEN TAILLIGHT BULBS, 12 V brighter than standard, use less energy.

SUPER BRITE QUARTZ HALOGEN bulbs are available but there is a warning that
they should only be used with glass lenses.

Has anyone used any of these lamps, if so what was the result?

All the best,
