Are there any iPhone or iPod touch hackers lurking here?

I have what I believe is a great idea for an application on these, a 
G-Tech type performance meter.

I have the old G-tech, which was really cool for its days, but a bit 
clumsy to use.

The iPhone and iPod touch has the needed hardware, a three axis 
accelerometer (the old G-tech had a one axis).

With some clever programming the iPhone/touch could be make into the 
ultimate gearhead accessory, presenting 0-60 times, 1/4 mile, horse 
power, torque, G-forces in all directions.

I have a jailbroken touch, and there are some nifty accelerometer hacks 
available, like a level (not very precice), a pedometer, and other 
things, and this would be the ultimate app for that.

Unfortunately I'm not a good enough application programmer to do this.
