[DeTomaso] Fuel Line Question

For my tank, I just ran an american pipe tap up the tank drain bung and cut
some new threads.  I then used standard 1/2 pipe with plenty of Permatex #2
non hardening.  It has been just fine for 15 years that way.

mechanical fuel pump with 3/8 ports that is supposed to support 550 HP.
Any thoughts?
