[DeTomaso] Tom Tjaarda, B-J, etc.

I just ran across an article on a 'special car' that Tom T did in 1968, that 
likely will NOT rival the Corvette if it ever comes up for auction. Briefly, 
Mr Tjaarda took this job over from Giugiaro when Tom was just starting out at 
Ghia- it's a one-off, 4-door 7-passenger limosine built on a standard Checker 
cab chassis! Called the 'Centurian,' among its many unusual features is the 
left rear door opens suicide-style while the right rear door is normal- 
supposedly due to A. DeTomaso's specific request so debarking passengers would have a 
slightly easier time exiting the limo & stepping onto the curb. The thing is 
powered by a 327 Chev with a B-W automatic, and is not unattractive in its 
pictures. The article says, 'luxury out the wazoo'!
